If you’re a fine malt beverage connoisseur, you owe it to yourself to make at least one pilgrimage to the Speyside (Scottish: Strathspey) whisky district. Located on the banks of the beautiful River Spey, the site attracts tourists with its legendary Whisky Traila nine-stop pilgrimage for whisky devotees to sample the wares and look behind the scenes. The nine locations are:

  1. Benromach
  2. Cardhu
  3. Dallas Dhu
  4. Glenfiddich
  5. Glen Grant
  6. The Glenlivet
  7. Glen Moray
  8. Speyside Cooperage
  9. Strathisla

The Trail has its own online home at maltwww.whiskytrail.com, where you can get directions, hours, and admission prices for each location. In addition, the site offers whisky tasting pointers for fledgling visitors. An additional path, the Speyside Way, includes part of the Whisky Trail, but also passes through dolphin country and beautiful golf courses. Make it a point to include as much as possible during your stayman does not survive on whisky alone.
